Iberian Cavalry

These figures are a continuation of my Carthaginian forces. This time it is 5 and one third bases of Medium (or maybe Heavy) Iberian Cavalry. Another group of miniatures I’m very happy with. I find 15mm very time consuming, but also very rewarding when they’re done. I think they look pretty good, especially the shields (which are freehand). I went with three different tunic colours: 3 white stands, 2 red and 1 yellow. I wanted a little variety and this will let me easily demark any variations (heavy vs medium, elites or even different corps).

You might ask why I’ve only got 5 1/3 stands; it’s pretty simple really. They come in packs of 4 and I wanted 6 stands with 3 on each stand, so I went off and ordered 5 packs to get 20 little horsies and men to leave me with 2 spare. Unfortunately living in Australia means there’s not many retailers, and so the one retailer of this line only had 4 packs, so I was left just short and with a couple of month wait for more. As a result I’ve only been able to paint 1 of my yellow tunic cavalry, but I’ve taken a picture so you can see how he looks.
